Agility Classes

Agility Classes

Agility classes are for Handler and Dog teams that have completed the foundation series and are able to perform all obstacles to criteria for competition.  There are multiple levels depending on where you and your dog are in your training and competition.

Class Description

(fill out form below for more information)

Foundation: Basic skills class that begins with all necessary behaviors to move handler and dog team into handling classes.  These are on-going classes that teach building blocks of skills that lead to successful handling teams.  Foundation is required for all handling classes.  The sessions are 6-8 weeks long.  Teams may be in foundation for up to a year.  Dogs may start as early as 12 weeks to any age.

Your dog  must have completed our foundation training to apply for handling  classes.

Beginning Handling:   Short sequences with all obstacles.  This is the first class once you have completed all required coursework in foundation.  Students must have individual obstacle performance and the beginning of handling understanding.    Often when you are in a foundation class, it covers these basics and students move into intermediate handling.

Intermediate Handling:  Short sequences with a great deal of time walking courses and discussing options.  The trainer spends time coaching and students that are working basic handling skills.   Perfect for the Novice/Starters to Advanced/Open team that wants detailed coaching to advance to the higher levels of handling.  Also excellent for the Master level that wants to perfect existing skills.

Masters Handling:  Short and long sequences providing challenges that students will face in competition at the higher levels.  There are classes that focus more on AKC type challenges, USDAA type challenges, and Master Challenge type challenges.  Appropriate for students that want to get ring time to practice their handling skills.  Students/dogs should have a good understanding of handling and can describe their handling style to the training in order to get the most out of the class.
